Microelectronica SA, Romania

Microelectronica S.A. is a private SME, located in the Bucharest surroundings, Romania, dealing with manufacturing and research for semiconductor devices. The company was set-up in 1981, and become private in 1999. It was a valuable supplier for the former socialist common market (1983-1989), providing MOS semiconductor chip and LEDs, based on licenses from Sharp Co. and S/T Microelectronics. In 1999, the company entered its first international project, NATO SfP, "zirconia nano-materials for pressure sensors".
